Independent game studio

Games with teeth.

Sickle Claw Studio is a small independent studio making strange, systemic worlds: raptors in the Cretaceous desert, caravans crossing a painted medieval world, and a lone rover on a distant planet.

What we're building now, from nearly finished to barely hatched. Every image below comes from the games themselves.

Headed to Steam Early Access

Arcane Caravan

A single-player trading and kingdom-building game set in a painted medieval world, where your caravan is you: wherever it stands is where you can act. Each day brings a budget of moves, so every journey is a real decision.

Found settlements whose workshops keep producing in real time, even while the game is closed, haul goods between markets for profit, and rise from merchant to knight to paladin in a world full of rival traders.

Bonehead

Live as a single Velociraptor mongoliensis, from a 200-gram hatchling onward, in the dune fields of the Gobi about 75 million years ago. Uncover the desert one square at a time, follow scent to food and water, and when you meet another animal, decide fast: go in, or back away.

Closer to a roguelike than a dinosaur power fantasy. A grown raptor weighs about 15 kg, and much of this desert can kill it.

Hearthhold

A pocket-sized online RPG for phones, set in the Weftlands: a cloth-trading country of fens, moors and salt flats where somebody owns every road and somebody is owed money.

From the town of Tallow Cross you set out on expeditions of four to eight encounters, and after each one you choose: push deeper for richer finds, or turn back and keep what you carry. Fall, and you lose only what you had not yet brought home.

Rover Swarm

Drive a lone rover on a distant planet. With each pass overhead, an orbiting mothership sends down a delivery job, and you drive junction to junction along the paths that exist, racing the clock and your battery while a swarm of other rovers wears the busiest routes into deep ruts.

Every delivery leaves charge to spare, and the planet rewards anyone who spends it wandering off the worn trails toward wrecks, plaques and beacons at the edge of the fog.

Card Survival: Fantasy Forest mods

A family of free mods for Card Survival: Fantasy Forest. They add a copper metalworking tier, foraged herbs and mushrooms with drying and pickling, water wheels that drive sawmills, forges and grinding mills, a village across the river with its own villagers, inn and academy, and animal companions and sheep farming.

The Mod Update Manager installs and updates the whole family in one click.

About the studio

We're named after the sickle claw: the curved, killing toe-claw of the dromaeosaurs, and the thing that made Velociraptor famous. It's a reminder to make games that are sharp, a little dangerous, and built to last.

Sickle Claw Studio is fully independent. We build in Godot, test obsessively, and ship to the players and modding communities we love.
